I have read 4 books on abortion so far. This one is the best. Don't bother to read the other 2 reviews prior to mine. They don't say anything about this book at all. (One just talking about Mary aborting Jesus. The other about how he got the wrong book.) This is a challenging read, but much of it will surprise you. The last essay actually gives a possible compromise. Here is the other book I liked a lot: When Abortion Was a Crime: Women, Medicine, and Law in the United States, 1867-1973 The author in When Abortion is pro-choice, so you will have to live with that if you are not. However, it is highly researched and has won a number of awards. Her point of view does not make the facts any less true.

Should a woman be allowed to have an abortion? or to take birth-control pills, which do essentially the same thing, only sooner? In _The Ethics of Abortion_, we hear from both sides--four writers arguing against abortion, and seven in favor, not counting the mothers of Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, and George W. I started blogging way back before it was called blogging. It was part of my football scholarship in the mid-90s. I had to keep an online journal of my life as a student-athlete. I first used WordPress in 2004. Well, since then, I've had it off and on. Mainly life getting in the way of writing. Take 6 months off, ends up being 2 years and everything I knew no longer worked. I like to call this lull, "The blank period". I've had at least 5 blank periods and each time I came back, it seemed like everything had changed. So when I decided to start back blogging, in 2014, I came to the Kindle Books wondering if someone had detailed all the ways to get started on WordPress. I didn't have any preference and just picked one that had reviews that used words like, "simple", "straightforward" and picked this one. I'm happy to say this book has put an end to the blank period. I didn't have to spend 7 days trying to figure out how to get things going. Then another 7 trying to talk myself out of quitting. It would be highly recommended for true beginners and those like me who quit using WordPress then can't remember how to use it. Very happy with the price and the fact that everything I needed to get started, not just 89% of everything I needed, was in the book. Great job on this one.

I use Wordpress almost daily.All of my websites are built using Wordpress, I have built the overwhelming majority of my freelance clients websites over the years with Wordpress, and at my day job I am the principal web person responsible for more than 30 company websites (more than 90% I have built with Wordpress) - so I grabbed this book just out of sheer curiosity - and as a guide for bringing a beginner up-to-speed on managing a website built with Wordpress, it is great.I use this book to help get the interns and content writers/managers who work under me at my day job acclimated to Wordpress so that they are able to take the sites I have built and use them without hesitation or mistake. This book is a must read if you are brand new to Wordpress and have no idea where to begin. Given her background as a programmer, Sarah does a great job of walking you through everything, from setting up your hosting account, to installing WordPress on your domain, to adding pages, posts, changing themes, SEO etc. I originally bought this book because I wanted to do a makeover for my family's Christmas Tree farm website. I had some basic html knowledge but I was looking for a platform that offered WYSISYG features and that wasn't going to involve extensive coding ( that stuff gives me a headache). The Wordpress platform suited my needs and at no point did I feel lost in going through the book. I am a visual person and the fact that she created a separate website ( keeping chickens.net ) as the sample website for her readers to view was a godsend for me.Now I will mention that there are a lot more things she could have included and perhaps elaborated on some of the more desirable features of Wordpress such as plugins, social media etc - but the point of this book is to get the basic idea of how to create a website on your own domain. If you want to take it further, she does a wonderful job in providing her readers with additional resources for Wordpress themes, plugins and mentions what she personally uses and recommends. Also she introduces her readers to an excellent hosting company, Hostgator. While going through her book I actually had to contact Hostgator because I was transferring my domain from another company, and that in itself was like pulling teeth - not fun and many hours spent on the phone. However, Hostgator's customer service is impeccable. They did a really great job of answering my questions and addressing my needs, especially after explaining to them that I was not an experienced web developer.What really blew me away was the author herself. I have gone to Sarah's website, wordpress2go.com, reviewed her resources and recommendations and personally contacted her with additional questions. She was very prompt in her responses and did a wonderful job answering my questions. There are so many different books on Wordpress, but this is the one to get if you want to get a basic, not too technical but very clear idea about how to use this wonderful platform to create websites. Even better that when you contact the author herself she responds in a timely manner.

I'm a writer who took shorthand in high school "way back then". Typing on my computer while thinking is not always successful. So, I am refreshing my shorthand skills. I am looking forward to jotting down my plots and thoughts and adding them later to my writing on my computer files. Why anyone who knows about this wonderful skill would ever think that it has been replaced by computer applications has me confused. I loved shorthand "back then", and I love it now. Yaaaayyyyy.......

This is the 1929 edition of Gregg shorthand, with more brief forms and abbreviating principles than later editions. Later came "Gregg Shorthand Simplified" (1949) and "Diamond Jubilee" (1955 I believe). Make sure you get the edition you want or need; they are not all the same. ... Also, there was a 1916 edition that allegedly is the same as 1929. There were several editions before 1916 as well.

I have a couple Gregg Shrothand books now. This one is by far the best one. Why? The first lesson is tough on like shaped sounds. The K, G, R, and L are all shaped alike. Then the M and N. Followed by the T and D then thrown in is the H. When I learned International Morse Code this was the type of approach they used as well. The E and the T. Build form there to the I and the M followed by adding A and N. Etc. So far I am having fun scribbling notes. My hope is to become somewhat proficient in using shorthand because I suck at spellen and shorthand spells like I do.Now with that said.... I am just now getting to words and phrases.... Wish me luck!

It was what I wanted. I would like to have the transcribed lessons too in order to check my work; however, the book did not have any other than the first two lessons out of 70. There are 585 numbered paragraphs and I'll say of that amount there are 70% of them that needed a key to the shorthand practice letters. But, the book would be twice the size too 🙂

I studied shorthand back in the dark ages (l950's) and bought the miniature book, however time and aging eyes made it difficult to use with the tiny characters. So when I saw this I just had to purchase it. The larger print helps extremely!

These books were in great condition.. bought 2 from different sellers and both were pristine. I recently reconnected with a friend who I went to Moser Secretarial School, with (in the early 70's) when shorthand was a skill for what we now call Administrative Assistants. I was amazed at how much we could remember and wanted a source to help me with the parts that weren't so clear in my head. This book was the answer. The words are in alphabetical order and other parts for abbreviations(including some "brief forms") and goverment titles, frequently used phrases. I gave it 4 stars because I wish the words were on lined paper because it matters where you start and position it on the line order for it to be correct and readable.

I got this book after finding out that my youngest of 3 sons is allergic to eggs, milk, wheat, soy, peanuts, celery, and shrimp. This has some ideas and is designed for toddlers, but I can't eat anything that contains these ingredients since he is still nursing and the small serving sizes just seem like a lot of hassle. I like to cook in bulk and freeze things since, with 3 kids under 4 and all very busy boys, I don't have a lot of time to cook small amounts everyday, This book doesn't give me that. I am going to be looking for another book that will be more helpful.

The recipes were good but most were things most of us know to do. Seriously, one recipe for chicken bites was chicken, rice milk, rice flour, salt to taste, and frying oil. The recipes are kid friendly but I want a cookbook that gives me different ideas. Good book for someone who is just beginning to learn to cook but for most save your money.

My granddaughter was diagnosed with an allergy to dairy and to peanuts/peanut oil. I ordered this book for my daughter, and she made the cupcakes in there for the granddaughter's birthday party. They were delicious. No one could tell there were any substitutions. Thank you so much.

Lots of different recipes

I wish I would have seen this in a store before buying & I would have saved my money. I ended up just substituting in my regular recipes to make my food soy & dairy free.
