This is the perfect Bible for kids aged 3 to 6. My oldest kids are 18 and 17 and my younger ones are 3 and 5. We read this Bible to our oldest two, and we are reading it now to my youngest two. It delivers truth with in a simple and understandable way, yet it is captivating and memorable to little minds. Also, it is beautifully written. If you are looking for a story Bible, pick this one. You will not be disappointed!
As an SDA Christian, I like for religious books to be true to the Bible. I sometimes get disappointed with these baby Bible books because they emphasize man's accomplishments so much instead of God's providence and power. Anyways, I am a very picky person when it comes to religious material for my children, and I could not find one thing wrong with this book. I feel like I have finally found my baby shower gift if I want to give a "Bible."On another note, my baby is almost 26 months old and is learning to read already. So many baby books have too many lines on each page with small print because they are meant for the adult to only read. This one only has 4 lines of text for every open 2-page spread, and each line might have 5 words maximum. The text is large print. The words are simple. My baby and I underline words with our finger as we read them. Though he is still working on 4-line text, he is making an effort to underline in this book and I know he will be able to do it soon. So it is very appropriate for teaching reading or if you are fostering early reading like I am.As an ethnic minority, I always wish there were more options with drawings that at least look like people from the middle east, instead of all Caucasians like in this book. But I am just happy that I found a baby Bible that was true to scripture with large simple print and few lines.I highly recommend this Bible.PS This is not a board book, so unless your child knows how to treat book pages carefully, you may not want to let them handle this one.
I have very fond memories of reading this book as a child, and recently bought a copy for my young niece. The poems are incredibly well-written and catchy, and I can still remember many of them years later. I really appreciate the introduction to the Bible that this book gave me as a child--it helped me to understand and remember the basics of the most important figures in the Bible.The poems are Biblically accurate and a pleasure to read, even as an adult.
This is my favorite rhyming bible. This was my daughters favorite book to read when she started getting ok at reading on her on. I think the rhymes and the shortened stories really help her proficiency- plus they are fun to read and simple with bright pictures.
I love this book for the poetry, but the older Goffe illustrations are so much better quality artwork than the newer edition's by another illustrator. The new artwork is juvenile and seems rather generic. I use this book to teach religion and reinforce reading, and the kids love the rhymes, but even they prefer the older edition in a big way. I usually give each of the kids a copy of this book at the end of every school year, but I won't be doing that anymore.
We have a lot of different children’s Bibles we’ve tried. This is definitely the favorite. The rhymes are great and help keep attention. I’ve also been impressed with how Biblically accurate and detailed the stories are. Definitely recommend.
A great way to familiarize children with the Bible in a way that they will remember and be able to build a strong Bible knowledge with a reference point from earlier exposure. The poems are simple and stick pretty well to basic truths.
My oldest son loved this book. Reading it to him as a baby always calmed him and he payed close attention. Later he loved me reading it to him everynight. We got so we almost had it memorized. My youngest son was slower learning to like books (he has Down Syndrome). This was one of the first books that he would listen to and not immediately want to close the book. This book has wonderful rhyme and rhythm while staying much truer to the bible than most children's bible books. The only problem is it's rhyme is so rememberable that it messes me up a little on the true wording of bible verses. I always like David saying "You come to me with a spear and a sword, but I come to you in the name of the Lord!". Take that Satan.
